I’ve just finished writing a book called ‘The Madness of Cars’. Our society has become totally dependent on mass car ownership, and people often ask me how they could possibly manage without one.

But it doesn’t have to be like this. From being 30 times less efficient than a steel wheel on a rail, to causing heart disease and horrified deaths, cars are a dangerous madness ruining our beautiful countryside.

It’s time to rethink this obsession, and look again at the safe, efficient railway system we so foolishly threw away. Watch the video above.
