Pictures as Zara Larsson wows Sunderland at Big Weekend

The BBC radio station’s festival is being held in Herrington Country Park in Sunderland and has already seen huge names like Fatboy Slim and Louis Tomlinson perform.

Saturday’s headliner Zara Larsson is having her moment under the sun currently, with the huge success of her summer anthem ‘Midnight Sun’.

The Swedish pop star took to the North East stage amid a bumper bank holiday weekend for weather, with temperatures pushing to nearly 30C.

Sunday will see breakout star Olivia Dean return to the region for the first time since she accompanied Sam Fender at St James’ Park last summer.

She achieved number one with her album last year.
