Plans for new short-term holiday accommodation in Greatham
Proposals have been submitted to Hartlepool Borough Council planning department to transform the vacant property at 17 High Street in Greatham.
The application from Thomas Gresham at Cousins & Co Short Stays LTD would see the building converted to provide two bedroom short-term holiday accommodation.
Proposals note the site would be professionally managed and be able to host up to four adults, with no parties, events or large group bookings allowed and enforced noise curfews and visitor management measures in place.
A planning statement in support outlines how the application would bring “a long-term vacant and boarded property back into use” and improve the “appearance and vitality” of the area.
Other listed benefits include “supporting the local economy and tourism”.
The application would involve no structural works or external alterations and the holiday accommodation would operate year-round.
A decision is expected to be made on the proposals in March.
