Police crackdown on speeding in Spofforth
The action follows concerns from residents of Spofforth about drivers travelling at speed through the village, between Harrogate and Wetherby, North Yorkshire Police said.
Police officers carried out mobile speed checks and parking enforcement in the village on Sunday (February 1).
More than 1,000 vehicles were checked going through the village, nine of which were over the speeding, a police spokesperson said. “The registered keepers will received notification in the next few days.”
Police also handed out seven traffic offence reports, including for parking in a dangerous position.
“We are planning to attend Spofforth again in the next couple of weeks and would like to remind all residents to ensure they are parking in a safe position away junctions and to stay withing the speed limit of the village,” the police spokesperson said.
