Police have confirmed some details about the person who died
Police have provided an update after a fatal house fire. Emergency services were called to a house fire in Eagles Lane, Little Downham, at around 6pm on Friday (July 31).
A person was confirmed dead at the scene. Cambridgeshire Police have confirmed the casualty was a woman aged in her 60s.
A police spokesperson said: “There have been no arrests and the fire is believed to be non-suspicious.”
A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
“Sadly, a casualty died at the scene. Crews returned to their stations by 8.15pm. The cause of the fire was accidental.”
