Power cut left Bury and Bolton residents without electricity

People living in parts of Radcliffe and Ainsworth have woken up to find their power is out.

According to Greater Manchester electricity distribution network operator, SP Electricity North West, 70 homes have been affected.

A fault with an underground cable is being blamed. It is estimated that power will not be restored to those homes affected until around 2pm.

The fault was reported just after 8am

One resident, who contacted The Bury Times, said: “I woke up to grab a coffee to find the electricity was off yet again! Now according to the website it won’t be on until 2pm.

“What is it with the electricity in Ainsworth, I don’t know how long it’s been off! It’s just so annoying as we seem to experience a power cut so often.”
