Power goes out in Ainsworth for second time in a week
Power around the BL2 postcode area went off tonight (September 14) at around 8pm, leaving residents without power for the second time in a week.
A previous incident on September 5 left residents without power, which SP Electricity North West stated was due to a faulty fuse at a local substation.
One anonymous resident said: “This is no longer funny now.”
Electricity North West said: “This power cut has been caused by an unexpected incident with the underground cable that provides electricity to your home or business.”
They estimated that the issue should be fixed by around 10:30pm, and confirmed an engineer has been dispatched to the area to fix the issue.
Power outages in Ainsworth have been a frequent occurrence in recent weeks, with Electricity North West stating some issues may have been caused by bird strikes in the area.
More than 100 properties have been affected.
