A Reform MP was laughed at by the BBC Question Time audience after he insisted the crypto billionaires who gave the party £72 million will receive nothing in return.

Reform has been accused of planning to hand hundreds of millions of pounds of tax breaks for crypto investors if they win the next election.

But on Question Time on Thursday, Kruger sparked incredulity by claiming Delo and Harborne would get nothing in return for their record-breaking donations.

To laughter from the audience, the former Tory MP said: “I think that it’s an admirable thing that these two men – who will get nothing for it, no peerage, no policy. They’re not getting anything for it. There’s absolutely nothing in it for them.”

Reform leader Nigel Farage last week said he was “honoured and humbled” at the donation.

“Both men know that we are the only party that can turn the country around and win the next general election – thanks to their generosity, we are now able to fight that election on a level playing field,” he said.
