Rail disruption on York to Leeds line due to incident
National Rail said disruption is expected on the line until 12pm on Saturday (January 31).
Emergency services and staff from Network rail are on the scene of the incident, it said.
The incident has closed all lines running through Micklefield.
Trains running through Micklefield may be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes, revised or diverted as a result, National Rail said.
Northern cancelled its 10.40am York to Leeds and 10.17am Leeds to York services due to the incident.
The company said its Leeds to York via Garforth services will be cancelled in both directions.
Services travelling to Blackpool North will be unable to run between Leeds and York, and trains from York to Hull may be delayed, it said.
The rail company said it has requested a rail replacement bus to run between York and Leeds in both directions.
Northern said tickets for its services will be accepted on TransPennine Express and CrossCountry services via “any reasonable route until further notice”.
“Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends,” a Northern spokesperson added.
Details of the incident are yet to be released.
