A huge fire has broken out in a building on a busy road in Salford.
The fire tore through a large commercial premises on Bury New Road in the early hours of this morning (August 6). Pictures and videos show the Marc Darcy suit shop, near Hilton Street, engulfed in flames.
Huge plumes of smoke billowed from the blaze across Salford through the early hours. Videos showed massive flames taking hold of the entire building.

Carl Haslam, a station commander at the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), shared videos from the blaze and said crews were ‘working hard’ overnight. Firefighters remain on the scene this morning and a stretch of Bury New Road is closed.
Residents nearby have been urged to keep their windows and doors shut. In a post on social media, GMFRS said: “Firefighters are currently tackling a large fire at a commercial building on Hilton Street in Salford.
“Due to the large amount of smoke in the area, residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed and avoid the area. Bury New Road remains closed while crews work to extinguish the fire.” Follow our live blog below for the latest updates.
