Sambuca Italian to open at the Riverwalk in Durham

Sambuca will move into the former Thai River unit at the Riverwalk.

The Thai venue, previously known as Thai Central, moved to The Riverwalk in 2017, but closed last June.

In a Facebook post, Sambuca confirmed the site will open soon.

The post read: “Opening soon. Riverside’s new Italian fusion destination. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, memorable experiences. The wait is almost over.”

Sambuca has locations across the North East and offers a range of Italian food, including pizza, pasta and risotto.

Social media users have reacted to the announcement with messages of support.

One person commented: “Can’t wait to visit.”



Another said: “Looking forward to opening night.”

An opening date is yet to be announced.

The Riverwalk development, just off Framwellgate Bridge,is home to shops, restaurants and an Odeon cinema.
