A 61-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a 54-year-old man in Haddington.
A second man has been charged in connection with the death of a man in East Lothian. Emergency services were called to Carlyle Gardens in Haddington on Tuesday, February 10.
A 54-year-old man was found injured in a property and was taken to hospital. Sadly, he died on Wednesday, February 18.
Officers from Police Scotland have now arrested and charged a 61-year-old man in connection with the death. He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, March 5.
It comes after Mark Ingle was arrested and charged by police last week. The 41-year-old appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday, February 25, charged with murder.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody to appear again at the court within eight days.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Ross Duthie, of the Major Investigation Team, previously said: “My thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time. We have a dedicated team of officers carrying out extensive enquiries and a police presence remains in Haddington as part of this.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “A second man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a man. Officers attended a property in Carlyle Gardens in Haddington around 12.40pm on Tuesday, 10 February, 2026.
“A 54-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he later died on Wednesday, 18 February. The 61-year-old man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, 5 March.
“A 41-year-old man has previously been arrested and charged in connection with his death. He appeared in court on Wednesday, 25 February.”
