Selby man given suspended sentence at Sheffield Crown Court
Benjamin Lawrenson, 24, of Woodlands Drive, Selby, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court after pleading guilty to detaining the woman against her will on November 3, 2022 in Sheffield.
He was jailed for 26 weeks, suspended for 18 months on condition he complies with an 18-month supervision period, completes up to 25 days of rehabilitation activity and carries out 180 hours of unpaid work.
A two-year restraining order was imposed. During that period Lawrenson is banned from contacting the victim directly or indirectly, including via social media, and must not visit any address where she lives.
