Shaun Murphy vs Wu Yize start time and how to watch World Snooker Championship final for FREE today

Two thrilling semi-finals saw Murphy twice overturned a two-frame deficit in the final session against legend John Higgins to reach his fifth final. He has not won the sport’s greatest prize since triumphing as a qualifier in 2025.

His opponent will be 22-year-old Yize, in his first final, who saw off Mark Allen in stunning fashion.

Allen failed to pot a simple black, in one of the most shocking misses in Crucible history, as his chance of a first final went up in smoke, allowing Wu to mop up and then win the deciding frame.

Wu’s win means China have a finalist for a second successive year, after Zhao Xintong beat Mark Williams in the 2025 final.

The final of the World Snooker Championship will starting on Sunday, May 3 and conclude the following day on Monday, May 4.

The match, which is best of 35 frames, will be played over four sessions; and afternoon and evening session on both days.

Murphy recovered from 3-0 down draw level at 4-4 against Wu Yize in the first session before the second session went the way of of Wu who claimed a 10-7 overnight lead.

The third session is scheduled for Monday, May 3 at 1pm, with the fourth and final session beginning at 7pm on Monday evening.

The first player to win 18 frames will be crowned world champion.
