SKN by Ben from York wins Skin Specialist of the Year Award

Ben Brookshaw, founder of independent mobile skincare business SKN by Ben, was named Skin Specialist of the Year at the West Yorkshire Hair and Beauty Awards.

The accolade marks another milestone for the therapist, who launched his mobile treatment service three years ago and now offers a range of skincare treatments including microneedling, blackhead removal, facials, dermaplaning and acne treatments.

Ben said one of the most rewarding aspects of his work is meeting people from different backgrounds and providing treatments in the comfort of their own homes.

He said: “Every day is different.

“I meet so many incredible people from all walks of life.

“Some clients simply don’t have the time or ability to get to a salon, so when I visit them in their homes, they are always so grateful. It means I’m able to treat a wide and diverse range of clients.”

Ben has built an extensive portfolio of qualifications, including beauty and complementary therapies, a Level 3 VTCT qualification in facial electricals, CPDs in dermaplaning, chemical peels and microneedling, and a Level 5 CPD in skin boosters and polynucleotides.

His expertise has helped SKN by Ben develop a strong reputation, earning more than 100 five-star reviews across Google and Facebook, alongside thousands of followers on social media.

The latest award follows another recent success for the business, which was named among the Top 10 Rising Skincare Specialists of the Year in 2025.
