A major emergency response is taking place following an incident in the south side of Glasgow this evening.
Police have sealed off residential streets around Queen’s Park in Glasgow amid an ongoing incident. Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, are believed to have been called to the scene at 8pm on Monday.
A heavy police presence is in place on Pollokshaws Road and blue tape has been erected around Balvicar Street and Queen’s Drive, at the Queen’s Park Hotel. The nature of the incident in the city’s south side remains unknown.
Photos taken at the scene, shared by Glasgow Live, show multiple police vehicles and ambulances parked up on the road. Uniformed officers appear to be stationed from Strathbungo to the opposite end of the popular park.
Cops can be seen standing guard amid the ongoing situation. Worried onlookers can be seen gathered on the street as the incident and police response unfolds.
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
