BRIGHTON’s winless run continued as Everton’s super-sub Beto netted a 97th minute to dent their European hopes.

They thought that run had come to an end as Gross marked his return to the club with a simple finish after re-joining from Dortmund.

Brighton could have had another when Mitoma curled the ball in from Lewis Dunk’s knock down – before VAR ruled it out.

But Everton hung in there and eventually broke Brighton’s hearts with the equaliser deep into stoppage time as Beto pounced on a loose ball after Verbruggen couldn’t keep a shot out.
