The relatives of a teenager who vanished without her mobile phone following a music festival are making an urgent appeal to locate her. Sophie Potter, 19, from Merseyside was last spotted on Saturday, September 12.

She had been at the Reminisce Festival at Sherdley Park in St Helens, reports the Mirror. Sophie had attended the event with her parents but became separated at approximately 10pm, shortly before DJ Lee Butler was due to take to the stage.

She was last spotted outside the festival grounds at roughly 11.30pm. Sophie was last spotted dressed in a baby pink top and shorts along with her dad’s black tracksuit top.

Her parents grew concerned when she failed to come home. Her auntie, Samantha Potter, revealed the teenager’s mobile has been handed back to her family.

She explained: “Sophie got separated from her mum at about 10pm. It was so crowded – one minute she was there, next minute she was gone. Her mum left early – she thought, if she’s going out, I’ll catch her that way.

“Sophie is dead chatty. She was dead excited. She was going with her mum and dad. She’d been talking to a few people in there. We were thinking (she’d turn up at home) – she’s met up with some people or seen someone from school.

“We’d been worried all day yesterday. We rang hospitals in case she’d been there. This is very out of character. She lost her phone on the night as well – someone found it and we’ve got it back – but she hasn’t called her number either. We’re really worried as the time is going on.”

Samantha revealed the family received a fresh lead from a neighbour following yesterday’s online appeal, though Sophie’s whereabouts remain unknown.

She explained: “We’ve posted it and since then we had the neighbour contact us. We’ve just spoken to them and they saw her at 11.30pm outside. We’re hoping someone else will give us something to go on.

“We’ve contacted everyone we can think of. She’s got a brother and niece the same age. They’ve been everywhere looking for her. We’re up the wall at the moment.”

The missing person appeal has been circulated extensively online, with Lee Butler among those sharing it. Samantha urged anyone with information about Sophie’s location to get in touch with police immediately.

Merseyside Police described Sophie as approximately 5ft 3in tall, of slim build with dark hair. She has a henna tattoo on her left hand, a birthmark on her right shoulder and a belly button piercing.

Officers confirmed that when Sophie disappeared, she was dressed in a pink belly top, pink shorts and a black Montirex jacket.
