Terrance Howarth at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court

Terrance Howarth, of Westwood Close, Farnworth, appeared before magistrates charged with obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty on Wednesday (September 2).

The alleged incident happened on Thursday, April 23, on Plodder Lane.

Howarth appeared before Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court wearing a black hoodie with green pants, and denied the charge.

Prosecuting was Jane Deakin, and defending was Peter Cunliffe, appearing before the chair of magistrates, Yvonne Rooney.

Ms Rooney was on the bench with Carl Navarro and Karon John.

Howarth was released on unconditional bail and the case was adjourned ahead of a trial at the same court on Tuesday, December 7, 2027.

Ms Rooney explained the date is due to backlogs within the court.
