The Hobbits reunited outside Middle Earth as Elijah Wood and his former Lord of the Rings castmates Sean Astin, Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan convened for dinner in Cambridge, Massachusetts, last Friday.
It’s been 23 years since the Actor Award-winning ensemble shared the screen in the third and final blockbuster, The Return of the King, which went on to sweep the Oscars with 11 wins.
Astin, who’s still in a group chat with his costars, captioned his heartwarming Instagram snap: ‘The band’s all here.’
Monaghan also posted a picture from inside Peruvian restaurant La Royal where he revealed the ‘four halflings’ enjoyed ‘three cocktails, two desserts and one great night of conversation’ teasing: ‘More to come.’
The La Royal staff were starstruck, revealing ‘the world rejoiced’ as the group ‘incited the forces of the universe to align for a magic evening.’
The comments section was hilarious as expected with the top comment coming from Instagram user @tinabambina29, who quipped: ‘It’s second breakfast!’

‘The fact that you [four] still hang out is so goddamn endearing,’ Instagram user @theandystitch wrote. ‘Now that’s a Fellowship!’
Instagram user @marisakabas marveled: ‘Imagine you’re the hostess at this restaurant and the four hobbits roll up.’
‘Every time one of you posts a pic of the four of you together it makes me so happy!’ Instagram user @kelseyrances92 commented.
On Sunday, Monaghan posted another Instagram story with Wood captioned: ‘Looks like our engagement party announcement, haha!’
The 45-year-old former child star famously got to keep his character Frodo Baggins’s one ring used in the trilogy as well as his sword Sting and one pair of his prosthetic hobbit feet.
Fans who want to see all four hobbits in person (as well as John Rhys-Davies and David Wenham) can attend Fan Expo Canada, which takes place August 27-30 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Astin, Boyd and Monaghan all charge $110 for photos/autographs while Wood charges $120 for autographs, $120 for selfies and $125 for photos.
The Daily Mail has reached out to all of the Hobbits’ reps for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Wood is the only one of the group who was cast in Andy Serkis’s highly anticipated prequel, Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, set to hit theaters December 17, 2027.
