Tiny Yorkie at Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter looking for new home
Ollie, a 14-year-old Yorkie, may be a pensioner in dog years, but staff say he still acts like a puppy.
The little dog, currently being cared for by the shelter, loves going on walks, enjoys attention and “has so much life and personality in him”.

But behind his cheerful nature is a difficult reality.
Ollie has a significant heart condition and also urgently needs dental treatment after being found with badly deteriorated teeth.
Shelter staff say they have decided to go ahead with the risky dental procedure because it is essential for his quality of life, despite concerns surrounding his heart.
A spokesperson for Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter said: “You honestly would never think he is 14 years old.
“He still loves his walks, enjoys lots of attention and has so much life and personality in him.
“Sadly, Ollie does have quite a serious heart condition and he will also need a dental, as his teeth are currently in a very bad way.
“We have decided to go ahead with the dental as it is needed for his quality of life, but due to his heart condition this does come with significant risks.”

Because of his ongoing medical needs, Ollie will not be put up for adoption and is instead searching for a long-term foster home where he can live out his retirement surrounded by comfort and cuddles.
The shelter says Ollie could live with other dogs, although he would prefer to be the only pet in the home and he cannot live with children.
Despite his health struggles, staff say Ollie remains full of character and hope someone will step forward to give him the peaceful home he deserves.
Ollie is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Anyone interested in fostering Ollie must be able to take him to vet appointments at RSPCA Bolton.
Applications can be made through the Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter website.
