What will the weather be like in the North East today?

Today is set to be showery and cool today. Drier and eventually warmer this weekend.

Today: A fresh start this morning with some early brightness, especially in the south. Cloud and outbreaks of rain will spread southwards though through the day, before turning brighter again later from the north. Temperatures a little below average for August. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight: Largely dry this evening and overnight, but a few showers may move along the east coast at times. Clearing skies will lead to a chilly night, especially in the countryside. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Are there any roadworks in Darlington?
