Update on Derby Street crash outside Bolton town centre

The crash, which appeared to involve several vehicles, was reported on Derby Street near the junction with Moor Lane and Trinity Street on Friday, August 14.

Images from the scene show several cars that appeared to have been damaged, with police officers called to the junction.

Speaking on Saturday morning, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “It was a damage only road traffic collision involving three cars, no injuries or arrests.”

The incident appeared to have happened close to a branch of Dominos Pizza and near where the University of Greater Manchester, formerly Bolton, is based.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they had not been called to the incident.

By 9pm on Friday evening, the cars involved in the crash had been moved by a recovery vehicle and traffic was able to move freely through Derby Street.

It is the latest crash in the area, which has been earmarked for improvements

Members of the public have been advised to always call 999 in the event of an emergency as soon as it is safe to do so.
