There have been major changes behind the scenes ahead of High Potential’s new season
All you need to know about when High potential Season 3 is coming out after major behind the scenes shake-up
- High Potential fans face a longer wait as ABC has moved the hit crime drama’s third season to a midseason slot, meaning the earliest viewers can expect new episodes is January 2027.
- The Disney+ series, starring Kaitlin Olson, has been shifted from its usual schedule position in what ABC calls a strategic move. The show, based on the French-Belgian series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel, has earned critical acclaim with a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
- Season 2 ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving several mysteries unsolved and one character’s fate hanging in the balance. The delay comes as ABC updates its slate of shows with new release windows.
- ABC’s senior vice president Ari Goldman explained the decision, saying: “We do not take lightly the move of High Potential to midseason, but I think this is a real opportunity to bridge through to the end of the year, to keep an uninterrupted run of episodes.”
- The move aims to prevent the lengthy breaks that affected previous seasons during Christmas and the Winter Olympics. ABC hopes to replicate the success of other midseason shows like Will Trent and The Rookie.
- New showrunners Lila and Nora Zuckerman will take over from Todd Harthan, who stepped down to focus on the upcoming Disney+ series Eragon. The sisters previously worked on Poker Face, Suits and Agents of Shield.
- While the episode count for Season 3 remains undecided, Goldman confirmed they’re “looking at a really full season” for the popular crime series. It could mean an increase on Season 2’s 18 episode run.
