Why visitors love Fletchers Farm Coffee Shop near Great Ayton

Fletchers Farm Coffee Shop, at Woodhouse Farm in Little Ayton near Great Ayton, forms part of a farm which has been in the Fletcher family for five generations.

The family traditionally specialised in dairy farming, but the site now includes a farm shop, coffee shop, campsite, livestock and a children’s play area, as well as hosting functions and events throughout the year.

Its coffee shop has become a popular destination in its own right and currently holds a 4.4 out of five rating on TripAdvisor.

Visitors have particularly praised its breakfasts.

One recent customer said she and her sister had made the drive to Fletchers Farm for a full English breakfast and were impressed by both its presentation and freshness.

She described the breakfast as “super” and said the service was “speedy, efficient and friendly”.

The visitor added that the farm itself was a “lovely place to spend the day”, highlighting its animals and farm shop.

Another recent customer opted for the farmer breakfast and simply described it as “lovely”.

The coffee shop is also a popular meeting place for people living nearby.

One visitor, who described it as one of their favourite places to meet friends, said the food was “delicious” and “always freshly prepared”.

They added that staff were “so friendly and welcoming”, while also praising the homemade-looking cakes.

Sunday lunch has attracted similarly enthusiastic reviews.

One regular customer, who had previously visited for breakfast, awarded the Sunday lunch “10 out of 10”.

They praised the thick slices of pork, fresh vegetables, large Yorkshire pudding and generous serving of gravy.

Another customer described Fletchers Farm as a favourite place to visit with both family and friends, praising the “great food” and wide choice available.

Part of its appeal is the setting.

Customers can sit inside, on a veranda or outside near a stream, while the wider farm offers livestock and outdoor space for visitors to explore.

Its location also makes it a useful stopping point for walkers.

One visitor said they discovered the farm after walking up Roseberry Topping before making the roughly 45-minute walk from Great Ayton.

They found the coffee shop busy on arrival but managed to get a seat immediately and described the staff as friendly.

The farm shop gives visitors another reason to stay, with a range of produce, food and drink available alongside the café.

Fletchers Farm Coffee Shop is currently listed as open from 9am until 4pm from Wednesday to Sunday, and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

With its farm setting, food and proximity to Great Ayton and Roseberry Topping, it has become a popular stop for walkers, families and those simply looking for breakfast, lunch or coffee in the North Yorkshire countryside.
