A issue was identified, which stalled the repair works
Repairs are set to restart on a Cambridge sinkhole as an issue resulted in delays. A sinkhole, described as the “size of a family car”, appeared along Milton Road in Cambridge on July 14.
As a result, a part of the road where the sinkhole formed was closed to repair it. Works were expected to be completed last week, however Anglian Water identified issues within its water network, therefore halting the repairs.
Cambridgeshire County Council has provided an update on the sinkhole repairs. A council spokesperson said: “Anglian Water have now repaired their damaged sewer.
“We’re liaising with our highways contractor to restart the repair work on the road as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We’ll provide a further update once we have more information.”
