Wynsors World of Shoes on Blackburn Road, Bolton to close

Wynsors World of Shoes, which has more than 45 branches nationwide Adidas, Skechers, Clarks, Timberland, Nike and Crocs, previously announced 17 shops are set to close.

One of these will be the branch on Blackburn Road in Astley Bridge.

In a previous statement, a spokesperson for the company said: “It’s with sadness that we announce that certain Wynsors stores will be closing their doors.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers who have shopped with us and supported the store over the years.

“Your support has meant so much to the whole team.”

Branches also closing in Greater Manchester will be Bury, Salford, Oldham and Rochdale while further afield in the North West they will close in Bacup, Fleetwood and Birkenhead.

These closures come after a warning from private equity owner Modella Capital earlier this summer about job cuts and changes to its store estate.

Mondella Capital has endured a challenging 2026.

Claire’s and the Original Factory, both owned by Mondella, fell into administration earlier this year, resulting in the closure of all of the combined total of 291 stores.

Closure dates for the Wynsors stores have yet to be announced.
