Since Covid, the garden has only been opened to the public once.

The event also marks the 82nd anniversary of D-Day and will be attended by Ken Cooke, York’s only remaining veteran of the Normandy campaign.

Attendees can enjoy refreshments, including tea and cakes, while a saxophone quartet provides the musical backdrop.

Tickets must be obtained in advance, with numbers limited.
