York Museums Trust has called off its Evening in the Gardens event which was due to be held at Museum Gardens on Friday (August 28).

A trust spokesperson said the forecast rain for Thursday and Friday is “expected to leave the lawn thoroughly drenched”.

“Combined with the prediction of further showers and lower temperatures on Friday evening, and with limited shelter to offer, we feel that this would significantly impact on the experience in York Museum Gardens,” they said.
