Young man missing from Edinburgh sparks desperate police appeal as concerns grow

Worries are mounting for the welfare of Daniel Mrimi who was last seen in the capital on Monday afternoon.

A young man has gone missing from Edinburgh sparking a desperate police appeal.

Daniel Mrimi was last seen in the Morningside Road area of the city around 12.50pm on Monday, June 1.

The 20-year-old is from Glenrothes and has links to the Fife area.

Daniel is described as around 5ft10 in height, of slim build with very short black hair.

He was last spotted wearing a black zip-up jacket, a blue t-shirt, charcoal grey trousers and black trainers.

Police Scotland is now appealing for the public’s assistance to help trace Daniel. Officers say worries are mounting for his safety and wellbeing, and enquiries are continuing in a bid to get to the bottom of where he is.

Inspector Paul Anderson said: “Concern is growing for Daniel’s welfare and our enquiries are ongoing to trace him.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen Daniel or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1494 of 1 June, 2026.
