A financial crisis looms – with or without Starmer
Capital Economics, the distinguished city forecaster, has predicted that if Starmer is replaced, gilt yields will rise and the pound will weaken, which is likely to lead to a financial crisis. However, even in the unlikely event that Starmer manages to cling on, I believe this is likely to happen anyway.
