Crypto Bill Text Released Ahead of Senate Vote

Bloomberg’s Tyler Kendall broke down the potential sticking points around the Clarity Act after Senate Republicans released updated text of the bill in anticipation of a vote this week. The text includes an updated ethics provision that was a main roadblock to get Democrats on board, that would give state attorneys general some authority rules and will push elected officials to put their digital asset holdings into a blind trust or forced divestiture. The bill also faces pushback from community banks concerned about deposit flight.
