Half the XRP on Exchanges Is Gone. What Happens When Buyers Return?

Roughly half of the XRP that was sitting on exchanges less than a year ago is no longer there. Exchange balances have fallen to their lowest level in approximately seven years as XRP has moved into private wallets, institutional custody, and investment products. Why does that matter? XRP’s price is not determined by every coin that exists. It is determined by the much smaller amount currently available to buy and sell—the tradable float. As that float shrinks, the market can become more sensitive when new buyers arrive. In this video, I explain how exchange balances, market depth, sell orders, and supply and demand affect XRP’s price. I also explain what this data does—and does not—prove, because lower exchange supply alone cannot create a major move without real demand.
