How to make money at the equipment auction… or at least avoid losing it.

In this video, I’m heading to the auction yard to walk through the equipment, inspect the machines, and see if there are any treasures hiding among the tired iron. The goal is simple: find equipment I can buy right, repair, and flip for a profit.

But auction equipment always comes with surprises. Some machines look rough but turn out to be solid buys, while others are polished up just enough to hide expensive problems. As I go through the yard, I’ll show you what I’m looking for, what catches my attention, and the warning signs that make me walk away.

We’ll look at engines, hydraulics, undercarriages, attachments, leaks, wear, missing parts, questionable repairs, and all the other details that can turn a “great deal” into a very expensive mistake. I’ll also talk through how I think about auction prices, repair costs, resale value, and the risks involved when you’re trying to make money flipping equipment.

There may be a few treasures waiting to be found, but there are also plenty of hidden horrors lurking under the paint.
