ICPAK and bankers oppose new Finance Bill taxes, warn of job losses in service sector

And now to the ongoing public hearings on the Finance Bill 2026, stakeholders are taking issue with the government for failing to review Pay As You Earn tax bands and for introducing new taxes on mobile money transactions. Appearing before the National Assembly Finance and Planning Committee, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the Kenya Bankers Association said more taxes are hampering the ability of the service industry to create new jobs.
