Videos showing smoke rising near the district quickly spread across social media — with claims that Iranian drones had struck the DIFC itself. If true, it would mean the Middle East conflict has reached one of the world’s most important financial hubs.

But the reality may be more complicated.

As tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel continue to escalate, the Gulf region is now seeing a wave of missile and drone activity. And early on March 13, Dubai became the center of alarming reports suggesting Iranian drones had targeted areas close to its financial core.
