Bitcoin has exploded past $77,000 after one of its strongest rallies in years — but the move may be about far more than a simple crypto short squeeze.

Bitcoin has gained roughly 20% in just four days, breaking decisively out of the $58,000–$67,000 range that dominated much of the summer. Billions of dollars in short positions have been liquidated, institutional demand has returned, and the market is now watching a potentially major shift in U.S. policy.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong believes Bitcoin could be entering the next major crypto bull run, with the September 15 Senate vote on the CLARITY Act emerging as one of the biggest catalysts for the industry.

Armstrong is also extremely bullish on Bitcoin’s long-term potential, saying that he believes Bitcoin could reach $300,000–$400,000 by 2030.

But there is another major development investors need to understand.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has announced an increase in the size of Treasury buybacks, signaling that policymakers are becoming increasingly focused on liquidity and conditions in the long-term bond market.

With U.S. public debt approaching $40 trillion, elevated long-term Treasury yields, renewed institutional demand for Bitcoin, and the possibility of major crypto market-structure legislation, the macro backdrop is becoming increasingly important for Bitcoin investors.

In this video, we break down:

• Why Bitcoin suddenly exploded past $77,000
• The massive short squeeze driving the rally
• What the Treasury’s increased bond buybacks actually mean
• Why Treasury yields and liquidity matter for Bitcoin
• Brian Armstrong’s prediction for $300K–$400K Bitcoin
• The September 15 CLARITY Act Senate vote
• Why regulatory clarity could unlock another wave of institutional capital
• How Coinbase is diversifying beyond Bitcoin spot trading
• The rise of stablecoins, tokenization, prediction markets and AI-driven finance
• Scott Bessent’s comments on America’s $40 trillion debt
• The administration’s plans for fiscal consolidation
• Whether Bitcoin’s latest breakout can develop into a sustained bull market

The key question now is whether Bitcoin’s move above $77,000 is simply the result of a massive short squeeze — or whether the market is beginning to price a much larger structural shift in crypto, regulation, liquidity and institutional adoption.

If Bitcoin can hold this breakout and organic demand continues to accelerate, the next phase of the market could look very different from the one we’ve experienced over the past several months.
