Many middle-class parents don’t realize how important it is to teach their kids life skills and financial awareness from a young age.

When kids grow up and go for a job, we often assume they will be financially independent but the reality is different. Many middle class children struggle to survive in the outside world, dealing with family politics, workplace challenges, and the distractions of today’s technology driven life. Teaching them early about finances, decision-making, and responsibility can give them a strong foundation for the future.

Sadly, many parents neglect their own health and financial planning, unaware that insurance policies may not cover everything. They don’t realize that even seeing a good doctor, eating healthy, traveling, or enjoying life requires financial preparation.

From my personal experience, I missed countless opportunities because of workplace politics and poor guidance. Even today, I think about those decisions and feel regret. I don’t want other kids from middle class families to face the same struggles.

The world is full of people who will try to trick, dominate, or take advantage of you. Some will see potential in you that you don’t even see in yourself and this is called hope. But poor guidance or wrong decisions can cost you dearly, even if you’re in a good position. Sometimes, it feels like all your hard work has been wasted because of “poisonous” people around you.

This is why middle class parents must take responsibility seriously and train their children early not just in academics, but in life skills, financial literacy, and self-reliance. Children who learn these skills young grow up independent, confident, and able to achieve great things at a very young age, avoiding the struggles many of us faced.
