Boy George exits ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ after releasing pro-genocide track

Former pop star Boy George has pulled out of his planned appearance from next week in the London Palladium’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar. The withdrawal comes shortly after the performer released a track supporting Israel’s genocide in Gaza, which he denies is a genocide.

George’s manager said the decision had been made with the “utmost respect” for those involved in the show’s production. This ‘respect’ claim is despite manager Paul Kemsley’s assumption that “many people purchased tickets in the hope of seeing George perform”.

Genocide apologist

No mention of the disgust at his support for the apartheid occupation’s slaughter and forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. Genocide experts, international law experts and the United Nations all judge these actions, including the specific targeting of children, to be genocide.

But Kemsley nodded to the likelihood of mass protest by those disgusted humanitarians when he said he had withdrawn his performer to allow:

the production to remain the focus

His claim that this would “ensure everyone involved can move forward with mutual respect and goodwill” is a bit of a stretch though, to say the least.
