Grammy Awards 2026: Who Won Their First Grammy This Year?

Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny are the two musicians on everyone’s lips following this year’s Grammys after winning the most awards on the night.

They aren’t the only ones celebrating, though, with plenty more artists coming away with some of this year’s top awards – including a few first-time winners who’ve been waiting years for a Grammy.

And while it didn’t initially look like a landmark year for UK-based talent, we’re excited to report that several of this year’s new Grammy recipients are British stars.

Here are nine stars who’ve won their first Grammy in 2026

Believe it or not, it took until this year’s ceremony for The Cure to win a Grammy – and they actually wound up scooping two off the back of their Songs Of A Lost World Album.

Unfortunately, they weren’t able to accept the awards in person following the recent death of former band member Perry Bamonte, whose funeral took place late last week.

Following an amazing year for Olivia Dean in 2025, she’s kicking off her year with a coveted Best New Artist win.

Excitingly, Olivia’s victory keeps on the streak of only female artists being awarded Best New Artist in the 2020s, following on from Billie Eilish, Megan Thee Stallion, Olivia Rodrigo, Samara Joy, Victoria Monét and Chappell Roan (the previous two winners are also female, with the 2010s being rounded off with wins for Alessia Cara and Dua Lipa).

Olivia’s fellow Brit Lola Young may not have come away with Best New Artist, but she still picked up her first Grammy in 2026.

Lola’s signature hit Messy was awarded Best Pop Solo Performance, triumphing over stiff competition from international household names Chappell Roan, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Sabrina Carpenter.

The Eusexua album scored FKA Twigs some of the best reviews of her entire career, which translated to a Grammy win on Sunday night.

Sadly, Twigs’ category, Best Dance/Electronic Album, was not part of the main ceremony broadcast, but that doesn’t take away from the fact she’s now a Grammy recipient.

Prior to this year, Twigs had been nominated once before, in the Best Music Video category for her Cellophane clip.

Another first-time winner from the UK was Yungblud, who went into this year’s ceremony as one of the top-nominated Brits alongside Sleep Token and Cynthia Erivo.

For his cover of Black Sabbath’s Changes, he was awarded the Best Rock Performance title, beating the likes of Linkin Park and Paramore’s Hayley Williams for the accolade.

Country performers Shaboozey and Jelly Roll won a Grammy each in 2026 for their collab Amen.

Elsewhere in the night, Jelly Roll picked up two more awards for his Beautifully Broken album, taking his total from zero to three.

Kehlani also scored multiple first wins in the space of one night.

They came away with two awards for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance, and even though her wins weren’t broadcast as part of the main show, they still wound up making headlines with their politically-charged acceptance speech.

Steven Spielberg’s first Grammy win on Sunday was significant as it elevated him to EGOT status, making him only the 22nd person in history to do so.

He previously had three Oscars and four Emmys to his name, as well as a Tony for co-producing the Broadway musical A Strange Loop.

Spielberg’s first ever Grammy win was as a producer on a recent documentary about his frequent collaborator John Williams.
