Jack Lowden Backed For James Bond Role By Slow Horses’ Gary Oldman
“It’s been rumoured that he’s on the shortlist or he’s one of [the people in consideration],” Gary noted, before suggesting that we’re “going to find out pretty soon” if the speculation is true, “because they have picked” the next James Bond star.
“They have made their choice,” he alleged. “But they have not announced it yet. So, my fingers are crossed for Jack.”
Rumours about Jack succeeding Daniel Craig as the iconic spy date as far back as 2022.
That year, while promoting Slow Horses alongside Gary, Jack’s co-star teased him about the speculation, to which Jack told AP that the rumours are “lovely”, but cast doubt on their validity.
Meanwhile, more recently, Richard Osman claimed to have inside knowledge that Jack had been cast in the role, and praised the idea, calling the actor “an incredible Bond”.
Producer Amy Pascal previously claimed that the studio Amazon MGM was looking for “something really different” in their search for the next 007, keeping an eye out for someone “stirring and exciting and different”.
