Katie Price has responded to the scrutiny she’s faced since her appearance at the National Television Awards earlier this week.

On Tuesday night, the former glamour model and reality star was pictured on the NTAs red carpet just one day after undergoing cosmetic surgery and getting filler in her face.

To help counteract the swelling and bruising she was experiencing at the time, Katie brought in professional help from makeup artist Mitchell Halliday, known to his followers as Made By Mitchell, who gave her a dramatic look for the occasion.

Her appearance on the red carpet has generated a lot of conversation in the days that followed, with the former Celebrity Big Brother winner insisting that she stands by it during the latest episode of her podcast The Katie Price Show.

Praising Mitchell for the “amazing job” he did in “covering” her bruises and swelling, Katie explained that the inspiration for her makeup at the NTAs was a pair of oversized dark sunglasses.

“Obviously when you have makeup like this, if you’re in the wrong light, it can look proper plastered on,” she observed. “[That’s] sad because [in] a lot of the [photos from the event], they’ve used the wrong lighting on my face in the papers.”

She said: “But do you know what? In the right light, and in life, I loved it. And everyone commented about it – and I loved how I looked. It’s exactly what I wanted.”

After hailing Mitchell as her new favourite makeup artist, Katie insisted later in the episode: “It was so much better in life than some of the pictures, because people love to get angles or the wrong lighting to make it look [bad] but we know how that works.”

“But [I] still made the headlines, so I don’t care!” Katie concluded.

Following the NTAs, Mitchell released a video hitting back at the “nasty” and “evil” comments being posted about Katie online.

“This was about creating a moment, creating a conversation and doing something different,” he claimed. “And all three of those things, we absolutely did.”
