Makeup Artist Confirms Chappell Roan’s Grammys Look Used Prosthetic Nipples
The Pink Pony Club singer’s daring outfit was inspired by a look previously showcased at a Mugler fashion show in 1998, which made use of a model’s real piercings.
After Chappell’s appearance at the Grammys, many were left questioning whether the singer had used her own nipples painted to look whiter as part of the illusion, or opted for prosthetics.
However, makeup and prosthetics artist Sasha Glasser has now cleared everything up.
In a post on her official Instagram, Glasser – who has collaborated with the Grammy winner numerous times in the past, perhaps most notably on the pig’s nose showcased on her Good Luck, Babe! single artwork – confirmed that she used prosthetic nipples from Out Of Kit to create the illusion.
She also revealed that she worked on the many temporary tattoos that Chappell showcased as part of her Grammys look.
Meanwhile, a social media post from Popsugar claimed to have the “inside scoop” from Glasser, who apparently told them that Chappell deliberately wanted to make use of these specific “no nips” prosthetics to “create a Barbie-like illusion” on the Grammys red carpet.
On Monday night, Chappell laughed off the furore surrounding her Grammys look, insisting she didn’t “even think this is THAT outrageous”.
“The look’s actually so awesome and weird,” she enthused, claiming she was “giggling” at the public’s reaction to it. “I recommend just exercising your free will, it’s really fun and silly.”
While Chappell didn’t take home any Grammys in 2026, a year on from her Best New Artist win, she returned to the awards show’s stage to present the same prize to this year’s recipient, British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean.
