Robbie Williams Opens Up About Autism Diagnosis
The Daily Mail reported on Thursday night that the chart-topping singer told fans during a Q&A session to promote his clothing range: “I have ADHD, and I just found out I have a bit of autism as well”.
The Angels singer went on to claim that he “actually fucking loves” his diagnosis with the neurodevelopmental condition “because it explains so much” about himself.
“It is my get-out-of-jail-free card now,” he quipped, claiming that he will now “just say, ‘sorry, I’m autistic’” as an explanation for what he described as “all the weird shit that I do”.
Robbie previously claimed that he’d received three different ADHD diagnoses over the years, the first being in 2006.
He’s also shared his experiences of living with “intrusive thoughts”, which he has compared to “inside Tourette’s” that “don’t come out”.
Robbie first rose to fame when he was a teenager, as part of the pop group Take That, with whom he racked up seven UK number ones in the early 1990s.
He also holds the title for the most Brit Award wins, with a total of 18, as well as two Grammy nominations.
