‘SNL’ Cold Open Puts Horror Movie Twist On Trump’s Relationship With Natalie Harp
Saturday Night Live kicked off its 52nd season this weekend with a spooky season twist on President Donald Trump (played by James Austin Johnson)’s relationship with White House aide Natalie Harp (played by Ashley Padilla).
In the middle of a meeting between Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (played by Ramy Youssef) at Gracie Mansion, the president is alerted that someone is here to see him.
“What reckless lunatic would travel to see me in this kind of weather?” Trump asks in the sketch.
Harp then stumbles in, drenched from the ongoing nor’easter storm battering the city as Trump asks what she’s doing in NYC.
Harp responds that she “ran here from DC ‘Weapons’ style” before imitating the run from the popular horror movie.
Trump in the sketch then remarks that Harp is like “the girl from ‘Obsession’ but blond.”
“Anyways, nice to meet you, Mayor Mamdani,” Harp says in the sketch.
“If you hurt him, I will end you,” Harp says in the sketch, pulling Mamdani in close.
