With so many streaming services at our fingertips today, picking something to watch is often as much of a time-filling activity as the movie we land on itself.

In the modern day, one metric many of us use to help settle whether a film is any good is the review site Rotten Tomatoes, which has been rounding up critics’ takes on cinema for film fans, and assigning them with a score out of 100, for almost 30 years.

True, it’s not a fool-proof system (particularly as sometimes a random critic will give a movie a bad review just to mess with its pefect rating), but you can usually count on a movie that’s been certified “rotten” worth avoiding.

Conversely, those with unanimously positive reviews get that rare distinction of holding a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. At the time of writing, the number of “certified fresh” films with a 100% rating stands at almost 500 – which we’ve narrowed down to the 10 who boast the highest number of glowing reviews.

From unsettling horror and family drama to animated classics and gripping documentaries, these are the films Rotten Tomatoes listed as having more unanimously positive reviews than any other – and a guide to where you can watch them at home…

Horror has repeatedly proved to be a hard sell when it comes to film critics – but His House managed not only to win them over, but to do so unanimously.

The film centres around a refugee couple from South Sudan, played by Sope Dirisu and future Oscar nominee Wunmi Mosaku, who struggle to settle into their new life in a remote English village due to sinister forces at play.

Also starring Doctor Who star Matt Smith, Remi Weekes’ film dives into themes like racism, cultural identity, superstition and grief, all through the medium of the folk horror genre.

Remi Weekes won a Bafta for Outstanding Debut By A British Filmmaker off the back of His House, while Wunmi also picked up her first Bafta nomination for her performance.

Honeyland was originally supposed to be a documentary short, until filmmakers Tamara Kotevska and Ljubomir Stefanov realised that the film’s themes and subject could support a feature-length offering.

On the surface, Honeyland centres around beekeeper Hatidže Muratova, who lives and operates in a remote village in North Macedonia, exploring themes like climate change and the link between humanity and nature.

As well as its 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, the film scored a rare double nod at the Oscars, in the Best Documentary Feature and Best International Feature categories.

Paulina García is the shining star of Sebastián Lelio’s Chilean drama, which centres around a divorced woman in her late 50s who makes a conscious decision to embrace life.

Along the way, she learns some important lessons after an ill-fated romance turns sour, culminating in what is one of the best movie dance sequences of the 21st century.

Gloria proved so popular that it was remade in English with Julianne Moore at the helm, with Sebastián Lelio once again on directing duties, but it’s the Spanish-language original that still remains the most popular with critics.

On the surface, Minding The Gap is a coming-of-age documentary about two lifelong friends, bonded by their love of skateboarding.

As the story unfolds, the pair’s friendship is challenged as their lives branch out in different directions, with the film exploring hard-hitting themes of race, class and generational abuse – while also asking universally relatable questions about finding our place in the world on the cusp of adulthood.

Wallace & Gromit are still charming audiences almost 40 years after they first burst onto our screen.

In their latest adventure, the claymation duo once again went up against their long-running adversary Feathers McGraw, for a new feature-length outing as heartwarming and cosy as it is ridiculous and silly.

The film made its screen debut on Christmas Day back in 2024, later landing a nod at the Oscars.

A timely story about the interwoven lives of different women who come to Mumbai to improve their lives, All We Imagine Is Light won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival upon its debut in 2024.

The film shines a light on the struggles and survival of working-class women in the bustling Indian city, as much as it celebrates the beauty of the everyday and highlights the things that unite us all.

Despite its acclaim, All We Imagine Is Light was notably not submitted for the 2025 Oscars, which sparked controversy at the time.

The best-reviewed documentary on all of Rotten Tomatoes is James Marsh’s Man On Wire.

In the 90-minute doc, the filmmaker looks back at highwire performer Philippe Petit’s jaw-dropping stunt, walking a tightrope between the Twin Towers back in the mid-1970s.

Presented in a highly-stylised and fast-paced form more reminiscent of a heist movie than a typical documentary, Man On Wire won an Oscar, a Bafta and the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival following its debut in 2008, as well as being named as The Hollywood Reporter’s best film of that year.

To say that Toy Story was a game-changing film would be something of an understatement.

Not only was it the first feature-length movie to be entirely rendered in CGI, which caused a ripple effect in the animation industry we’re still feeling today, it kickstarted a run of films by Pixar which would lead to bangers like Finding Nemo, Inside Out and Coco (not to mention four more Toy Story sequels to come later down the line).

Led by stellar voice performances from two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, the film introduced the world to Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear, an unlikely duo who eventually overcome their stark differences to become one of modern cinema’s most beloved pairs of buddies.

It’s a rare thing that a sequel manages to surpass the original film, but in the first Toy Story trilogy, things just get stronger and stronger from movie to movie.

Debra Granik’s Leave No Trace holds the distinct honour of having more positive reviews than any other on the entire of Rotten Tomatoes.

The drama centres around a veteran living with PTSD, who lives in the wilderness with his teenage daughter, relying on survival skills to get by.

Based on Peter Rock’s novel My Abandonment, itself loosely inspired by a true story, the film received particular praise for its leading performances by Ben Foster and Thomasin McKenzie as a father and daughter struggling to get by in unique circumstances.
