Abdallah Eyes Three Points as Warri Wolves Prepare to Face Enyimba
Technical Adviser of Warri Wolves FC, Hassan Abdallah, says his team is determined to secure maximum points when they face Enyimba FC in their Matchweek 29 clash of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The match will take place at the Southern Delta University Stadium in Ozoro, where the Seasiders hope to repeat their earlier success against the nine-time Nigerian champions.
Speaking before the game, Abdallah said his team is confident of getting a positive result after defeating Enyimba 2–1 in the first meeting between both sides earlier in the season in Aba.
“The mentality of the boys have changed,” he said. “They are now more determined and ready to express themselves on the pitch. We have worked hard to reform the mindset of the squad and position them for success.”
The coach explained that since he took charge of the team, efforts have been made to correct weaknesses that previously affected their performances.
According to him, the players have shown improvement in both their attitude and physical condition, which has helped the team become more competitive.
Abdallah also said the results of the work done by the technical crew are beginning to show, as the players are now stronger and more confident.
Despite recognising the quality and history of Enyimba, the coach believes Warri Wolves can achieve another victory.
“Ozoro is not different from Aba,” he said. “If we could defeat Enyimba at the Elephant Park, we can certainly do it again here.”
He also called on supporters to come out in large numbers to encourage the team during the match.
Abdallah expressed hope that the energy from the fans will motivate the players to give their best and secure an important win against their experienced opponents.

Luke Littler retains UK Open crown with victory over James Wade at Minehead
Luke Littler retained his UK Open title with an 11-7 victory over three-time champion James Wade at Minehead.
Littler held off the gritty Wade to become the only fourth player to claim back-to-back titles, and the first since Michael van Gerwen in 2015 and 2016 to pick up the first prize of £120,000.
“It feels amazing,” Littler told ITV 4. “It hasn’t been my best tournament average-wise, but as a player you’ve got to dig deep.
“I took it game by game and we’ve gone back-to-back. That was my target. I’ve had a bit of a dry spell but I’m back.”
In an event known as the ‘FA Cup of darts’, Littler and Wade were the last two men standing from 160 players to establish a repeat of the 2025 final.
Littler overpowered Wade 11-2 on that occasion, and it looked ominous again for the 42-year-old after losing the first three legs.
Wade resisted any thoughts of fatigue to level either side of the opening session, but Littler stepped up his treble power to stretch into a 6-3 lead.
Littler’s finishing was from polished, however, and Wade restored parity at 6-6 and then 7-7.
Wade missed a shot at the bullseye to win the 15th leg and Littler stepped in with a 116 checkout that raised the roof.
It was to prove decisive as Littler pulled away to get across the finishing line without being at his brilliant best, taking out double 12 and building on his first nightly 2026 Premier League win last Thursday.
Littler had earlier overcome double trouble to deny Josh Rock his first major final appearance.
The world number one missed 16 darts in a row at a double and trailed 5-1 in the semi-final before digging deep to prevail 11-9.
Littler recovered from 9-7 down to maintain his flawless record against Rock, which now extends to seven matches.
Gerwyn Price’s bid for a first UK Open title was ended by Wade in the last four.
Wade took control by winning six successive legs to lead 9-5 and went on to win 11-8, hitting 11 180s to average 105.53.

Barrett heating up at right time for Raptors
TORONTO — The perfect scenario was a convincing Raptors win with some stardust sprinkled around the Scotiabank Arena floor by Cooper Flagg, the 19-year-old Dallas Mavericks star who has already proven himself to be one of the best teenagers in NBA history.
One of two isn’t bad, and the Raptors took care of the most important part: getting a much-needed win over Flagg and the tanking Mavericks as Toronto’s hold on a playoff spot gets more tenuous with just 19 games left in the regular season.
The Raptors led early and built on their lead steadily as the evening unfolded. Once they went up by 20 on a smooth turnaround jumper by Scottie Barnes late in the third quarter, they were sharp enough to keep the drama at bay throughout the fourth period of what ended up being an easy 122-92 win. It was the tanking Mavericks’ seventh straight loss.
But given the Raptors’ struggles against top teams this season, taking care of the ‘minnows’ on the schedule is vital.
A big factor in the Raptors’ performance was RJ Barrett playing like the best Duke University product in a game where four of them saw action, Flagg included. Barrett uncorked a season-high 31 points on 13-of-19 shooting (3-of-6 from three), giving the strongest signal yet that he has found his game after struggling since missing 23 out of 29 games in a two-month stretch that ended in late January.
As for Flagg? He both looked the part of the NBA’s best teenager since LeBron James joined the NBA in 2003, and at times, a rookie struggling with the attention the Raptors were giving him defensively. He finished with 17 points and eight rebounds but shot 7-of-17 and had four turnovers in his 30 minutes. His frustration boiled over at one point, and he got his first NBA technical foul for arguing a no-call on a second-half drive to the rim. “I don’t think I got one last year (in college) either,” he said.
But like the Raptors’ Scottie Barnes, Flagg still managed to touch nearly every element of the game as he added eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and three blocked shots.
After Western Conference stars the likes of Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic missed their stops in Toronto due to injury, Flagg’s contributions were welcome even for Raptors fans as his spike block on Immanuel Quickley and his climbing the ladder to block seven-foot Jakob Poeltl’s lay-up provided memory-worthy highlights.
But even Flagg had to acknowledge it was Barrett’s night. “I’ve known him for a while, we’ve taken very similar paths (first to Montverde Academy in Florida for High School, then at Duke for a year of college), but he played incredible tonight,” said Flagg. “He was really efficient on both sides of the ball for them.”
It has taken a while for Barrett to feel comfortable since his injuries, but the signs are there.
Over his past six games, Barrett is averaging 21.7 points and six rebounds while shooting 56.7 per cent from the floor and 46.7 per cent from three, a marked improvement from 14.4 points per game on 46.6/27.5 splits that he was averaging in his first 10 games back.
Against the Mavericks, he was moving crisply — he had a dunk and a lay-up on cuts in the first half — driving through contact and looking as smooth and connected on his three-point looks. All of those things are easier when your fitness is back where it needs to be and your knee is calmed down, which wasn’t entirely the case until recently.
“That’s why a couple of weeks ago it didn’t look great,” said Barrett, who became the eighth Canadian to surpass 8,000 career points just before halftime. “Just got to continue to work through it.”
He has done that, and the Raptors are beneficiaries. Barrett has always tended to run a little hot-and-cold with his shooting, but if he is at the early stages of a heater — which he can stay on for weeks at a time — it bodes well for the Raptors’ stretch run.
With 19 games left, Toronto remains in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, but they are only one game up on Miami (winners of five straight, including over conference-leading Detroit Sunday) and Orlando, which has won four in a row.
The Raptors head on the road to play Houston and New Orleans this week and have suddenly seen their margin shrink to near nothing. Having Barrett back in full sail couldn’t happen at a better time.
“I think we know what he’s capable of, we’ve seen it the last two-and-a-half years,” said Scottie Barnes, who finished with 17 points, four rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal on 6-of-12 shooting. “He’s able to score the ball and help us out in that area and in different ways. Once he gets his stuff going, he’s pretty hard to guard, especially going downhill (to the rim), for himself and kicking the ball out.”
As an added bonus, Barrett’s offence and defence are often linked.
After Barrett hit his second consecutive three-pointer early in the fourth quarter to put the Raptors up by 26, Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic greeted him on the floor as Barrett was making his way to the bench for the ensuing timeout so he could demonstrate proper body-positioning on a pick-and-roll coverage.
The message: Barrett’s offence is important, but his attention to detail defensively is critical.
“Definitely, his offence is helping the team,” Rajakovic said. “But to be honest with you, what he’s doing really well lately is he’s playing really good defence. And that’s always the thing that then starts with him and starts with us, and that he has to do a good job there. When he does that, I really believe that when he plays with a lot of attention and effort on the defensive, I really think that helps his offence as well.”
No argument from Barrett, who stole the spotlight from Flagg, and helped the Raptors get one win closer to where they want to be in a month’s time when the playoffs start.
“I’ve been getting better, trying to get my body back right, been able to move better and just try to be as consistent as I can,” Barrett said. “And (Rajakovic is) right, when I’m locked in, I’m playing defence, and I’m guarding and active, it just helps you get into the game.”
1. Nembhard with the steal: Mavericks rookie Ryan Nembhard had to wait until just over five minutes left in the fourth quarter to make his NBA debut in his hometown. The Aurora native didn’t waste any time getting his name in the box score as he came from behind to cleanly strip an unwitting Barrett and go the other way for a lay-up. Barrett wasn’t happy about the steal, but he was happy for Nembhard, who was his late brother Nathan’s roommate in high school. Barrett and Andrew Nembhard grew up playing together since middle school. And Ryan? “He was just always there,” said Barrett. The younger Nembhard went undrafted out of Gonzaga but landed with the Mavericks and has done nothing but impress. “It’s been a long year together, and I’ve seen his growth from Day 1,” said Flagg of his fellow rookie. “He’s earned his contract, and I’m super happy for him.”
2. Good to be home: “It’s just basketball,” said Nembhard when I caught up to him before the game. But it’s not just another game, not when you have to dig in your pocket to get 20 or so tickets for friends coming out to see you play an NBA game against the team you all grew up watching. “It was cool, for sure,” said Nembhard after counting a pair of assists in his five-plus minutes to go along with his steal and lay-up. “You grew up watching these games, and I came to some games when I was younger. It’s always nice to come back to the city and play here.”
3. No Murray-Boyles on trip: The Raptors have ruled out Collin Murray-Boyles for their two-game road trip through Houston and New Orleans this week as they hope to allow his injured left thumb to heal up. Trayce Jackson-Davis will be out at least against Houston on Tuesday after he dislocated his left middle finger on a dunk in the lay-up line, of all things. He had it reset and splinted but missed the game against Dallas, too, after he scored 32 points in a conditioning stint with Raptors 905 on Friday. “I hit my finger on the rim perfectly (to dislocate it),” he said. “And I looked down (at his suddenly crooked finger) and almost started laughing.”
Bonus: Markelle Fultz made his G-League debut with Raptors 905 on Sunday afternoon and had four points, five assists and no turnovers in 19 minutes in the 905 win. I’m told that the No. 1 pick in the 2017 draft was offered the opportunity with 905 as an audition of sorts for the Raptors 15th roster spot, which they will likely be looking to fill on March 15. No promises have been made, but it was only three years ago that the 27-year-old was an effective starting point guard with the Orlando Magic, averaging 14 points and six assists on 50 per cent shooting.

Lens Close In On PSG With Win Over Lowly Metz
Lens clawed to within a point of Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday after beating bottom side Metz 3-0 to relaunch their unexpected title challenge. Saudi international Saud Abdulhamid drilled in the opening goal late in the first half and Florian Thauvin doubled the lead for Lens immediately after the break. Amadou Haidara wrapped up the victory on 52 minutes as Lens won for the first time in three matches to relaunch their pursuit of PSG, who lost 3-1 at home to Monaco on Friday.
“There are still a few hills to climb but being within a point of PSG with nine games to go is a good thing in itself,” Lens coach Pierre Sage said.
Metz, who beat Lens earlier in the season, stayed rooted to the foot of the table. They have not won in the league since November, taking only two points from their last 13 matches.
Later Sunday, Lyon scored a last-gasp penalty to escape with a 1-1 draw at home to Paris FC.
Lyon have failed to win in three straight Ligue 1 games and now sit fourth behind Marseille on goal difference, while PFC are 10 points clear of the direct relegation spots.
Just last weekend, Lyon appeared set to move eight points clear of Marseille in third, the last automatic Champions League place, but blew a 2-1 lead late on to lose 3-2 to OM.
Marshall Munetsi was fastest onto a parried shot in the box to put Antoine Kombouare’s Paris FC ahead on 63 minutes.
Lyon immediately brought on Brazilian youngster Endrick, in fine form since signing on loan from Real Madrid, but he was wasteful in front of goal.
As Lyon layed siege to the PFC goal late on, the hosts were awarded a penalty for handball and Corentin Tolisso converted from the spot in the sixth minute of added time.
“You could say there was a handball, but either way that feels like a defeat to us,” said Paris FC captain Pierre Lees-Melou.
On Saturday, Marseille avenged their midweek French Cup elimination by Toulouse, as Mason Greenwood scored the only goal in a 1-0 league win.
Recently fired coach Franck Haise had a triumphant return to south coast side Nice on Sunday.
Under new boss Claude Puel, Nice continued their slump towards the relegation zone as they were thumped 4-0 at home by Haise’s resurgent Rennes, the Brittany club climbing above Lille to fifth.
Lille drew 1-1 with Lorient, while Brest put two goals past Le Havre without reply.

Dick Vitale rips Kentucky basketball’s $22 million roster after loss
NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
The Kentucky Wildcats basketball team may still make the NCAA Tournament, but Dick Vitale thinks this iconic program should be much better than their 19-12 record this season considering their whopping $22 million roster.
The legendary ESPN college basketball analyst didn’t hold back his feelings about the Wildcats as they played Florida during Saturday’s prime SEC matchup. After the Gators hit some free throws to extend their first-half lead to 26-19, Vitale started to lay into the Wildcats.

“I’m going to say this right here, I’ve done several Kentucky games, win or lose, $22 million this team [which has been reported] in terms of the NIL for their players,” he said, per Awful Announcing. “I think in $22 million, they could have put together a better roster than they did. I really do.”
The Wildcats ended up losing by a score of 84-77, and Vitale continued about Kentucky near the end of their 12th loss of the season.
“I’ll tell you one thing, you don’t want to walk out of here thinking you got a moral victory,” Vitale said, referencing a hard-fought game against the No. 5-ranked Florida team. “Moral victories don’t count at this level of basketball. And you hear some of the people, ‘We played them close. We played them tough.’
“The bottom line is you’re Kentucky. You’re Kentucky. And you’ve got to leave here with a win, especially at home. There are no moral victories. Come on. I don’t want to hear that.”

The Wildcats were once the top program in the country under former Coach John Calipari, who left for Arkansas after being unable to make a long March Madness run in recent seasons, including a shocking first round upset to the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
The Wildcats have been coached by Mark Pope since, and they made the Sweet 16 in last year’s tournament before losing to Tennessee.

But this year, Kentucky is 10-8 in SEC play, and now face the No. 9 seed in the upcoming tournament this week. The winner of each conference earns a tournament berth, but the Wildcats know good seeding in the NCAA Tournament requires a strong run heading into Selection Sunday this upcoming weekend.
The Wildcats will start their SEC Tournament play on Wednesday against No. 16 LSU.

Rams, Trent McDuffie finishing up extension to make him the highest-paid CB in NFL, AP source says
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Trent McDuffie and the Los Angeles Rams are closing in on a contract extension that will make him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history, a person with knowledge of the negotiations told The Associated Press.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Sunday night because the deal had not been finalized. The Rams still aren’t able to publicly confirm they’ve even acquired McDuffie from the Kansas City Chiefs for a package of draft picks in a trade reached last Wednesday.
ESPN reported the deal is a four-year, $124 million extension with $100 million guaranteed.
McDuffie is making $13.6 million in the fifth year of his rookie contract in 2026, but the extension would keep him with his hometown Rams through 2030.
When the deal is done, Los Angeles will once again have the NFL’s highest-paid cornerback after Jalen Ramsey reached the same benchmark with his five-year, $105 million extension from the Rams in 2020.
After falling one game short of the Super Bowl last season, the Rams have stepped up to address the most glaring weakness on their roster by acquiring one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks and giving him a hefty financial commitment. Los Angeles has the financial flexibility to do a big deal with ample room under the salary cap after fielding one of the league’s cheapest defenses last season.
That defense faltered down the stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs, but McDuffie will be the centerpiece of its new look in the fall. The Rams also signed safeties Quentin Lake and Kam Curl to recent contract extensions, and LA seems likely to add at least one more defensive back to play alongside probable returnees Emmanuel Forbes and Kamren Kinchens.
Los Angeles won the Super Bowl four seasons ago with Ramsey playing a versatile role — the “star” position, in Rams parlance — across the defense. Lake currently fills that role with the Rams, playing both as a slot cornerback and a run-stopping defensive back in the box — but McDuffie’s arrival will allow the Rams’ scheme to be even more adaptable.
McDuffie has strengths both as a cover corner and as a hard hitter. He has three interceptions and 5 1/2 sacks in his career while leading all cornerbacks with 34 quarterback pressures and eight forced fumbles during his four NFL seasons. He was a first-team AP All-Pro in 2023 and a second-team selection in 2024.
The Rams gave up the 29th overall pick in the upcoming draft — they still have the 13th overall pick from Atlanta — along with fifth-round and sixth-round picks this season and a third-round pick next year in the trade with Kansas City.
McDuffie was born and raised in the Los Angeles suburbs. He graduated from prep power St. John Bosco High School before going to the University of Washington, where he played for current Rams defensive backs coach Jimmy Lake.

The fighter Mayweather calls his successor set to fight on Pacquiao rematch undercard
Following the announcement of the rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, fans are anticipating a blockbuster undercard to support a high-profile main-event. Now, the man who Mayweather himself tipped as his successor has let slip that he expects to appear on the bill.
Mayweather and Pacquiao collided back in 2015, where Mayweather scored a legendary unanimous decision win to become the unified three-belt welterweight world champion and take the bragging rights over his long-term rival.
Now, 11 years on from that mammoth event, the two pound-for-pound greats are set to run it back in September, in what is sure to be one of the biggest nights of boxing in the 2026 calendar, with an intriguing undercard expected to support the headline attraction.
In an interview with Pro Boxing Fans, Mayweather’s protégé, Curmel Moton, revealed that he believes he will fight on the undercard.
“I can’t really confirm [that I am on the card], not at the moment, but I feel like there is a very good, high-percentage chance that I definitely will be on the card. Co-main, hopefully, we will see but I definitely should be on that card, for sure.”
Moton has won all eight of his professional contests to date, registering six wins inside of the distance, but the Salt Lake City-born youngster admitted his excitement at the prospect of just attending a true Mayweather fight, as well as fighting on the card.
“I’m excited to see Floyd back and 100% locked in to boxing, not in an exhibition. His record is on the line so there is going to be a lot more at stake, he is going to be working a lot harder and he is going to be a lot more focussed.
“I’m excited, I have never been to a real, actual Floyd fight, so this will be the first one, and I will be on the undercard too, so it’s going to be dope.”
19-year-old Moton has been linked to an intriguing affair with Britain’s Giorgio Visioli, who claims to have bested the American in sparring sessions in the past. However, it remains to be seen whether Moton will be thrown into deep waters, in such a difficult fight on the biggest of stages.

Luke Littler targeting trophy clean sweep after retaining UK Open title
Luke Littler targeted a clean sweep of trophies in 2026 after retaining his UK Open title in Minehead.
The world champion held off James Wade 11-7 to beat the 42-year-old veteran in the final for the second successive year.
Littler began 2026 by winning his second world title and, despite making a slow start to the Premier League, is determined to win every major trophy available to him.
“That’s obviously the main aim,” Littler said when asked if he could win everything this year.
“The Premier League (in Cardiff) on Thursday was a massive win, to get myself from seventh up to third.
“Obviously, it’s not been the start that I wanted. But that win meant a lot and to come here to the UK Open and pick up the trophy means a lot.
“There was a lot of close games throughout this tournament and I wasn’t at my best at times.
“I missed far too many doubles that I would have liked to hit.
“But we’ve got the job done and for the first time in 10 years, just like the worlds, someone’s gone back to back.”
Littler held off the gritty Wade to become the only fourth player to claim back-to-back titles, and the first since Michael van Gerwen in 2015 and 2016 to pick up the first prize of £120,000.
In an event known as the ‘FA Cup of darts’, Littler and Wade – who was seeking a fourth UK Open title – were the last two men standing from 160 players.
Littler overpowered Wade 11-2 in a one-sided final 12 months ago, and it looked set to be the same story again as the 19-year-old won the first three legs.
Wade resisted any thoughts of fatigue to level either side of the opening session, but Littler stepped up his treble power to stretch into a 6-3 lead.
Littler’s finishing was from polished, however, and Wade restored parity at 6-6 and then 7-7 despite his average being about 10 points down on his opponent.
Wade missed a shot at the bullseye to win the 15th leg and Littler stepped in with a 116 checkout that raised the roof.
It was to prove decisive as Littler pulled away to get across the finishing line without being at his brilliant best.
