MANILA, Philippines–Alex Eala returns to Louis Armstrong Stadium for her second round match in the US Open in New York against Oleksandra Oliynykova of Ukraine.
Eala is scheduled to take the court no earlier than 12:40 a.m. Friday (Philippine time), following the men’s singles match between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Karen Khachanov.

The Filipino tennis star opened her US Open bid with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Mary Stoiana on Wednesday, also at the second-largest venue in Flushing Meadows.
When she made her main draw debut last year, Eala played her matches at Court 7 and the Grandstand.
“It was my first time playing on one of the main stadiums here in US Open, and it was very loud. And especially when the roof is covered, so that’s something that adds to the atmosphere, but it’s also something you have to navigate,” Eala said after her first-round win.
Eala looks to avenge her loss to Oliynykova, who beat her in May during the clay-court season at the Strasbourg Open in France.
She also aims to surpass her second-round finish at last year’s US Open.
