Andy Murray will join Jack Draper’s coaching team at Wimbledon after the injury-plagued 24-year-old announced a shake-up to his team.

Draper, who has struggled with injury over the past year and has dropped to No 50 in the world rankings, has parted ways with Jamie Delgado – who also used to coach three-time Grand Slam winner Murray – after six months together.

Former world No 1 Murray, who retired in 2024, entered the world of coaching with 24-time major winner Novak Djokovic last year, but the pair discontinued their partnership after six months of largely underwhelming results.

Yet a decade on from his second SW19 triumph, 38-year-old Murray will support Draper for the grass-court season this summer. Draper has previously revealed how he looks up to Murray as a mentor and the duo have teamed up in Davis Cup matches towards the latter stages of the Scot’s career.

“I am very grateful for everything Jamie Delgado has done for me over these past six months,” Draper said in a statement.

“He is a world-class coach and a great man. In the interim, I will continue to be supported by the excellent team at the LTA with the addition of Andy Murray, who will be supporting me throughout the grass court season.”

Draper has struggled badly for fitness, only competing in eight matches so far this season. The British No 2 called time on his 2025 season after withdrawing from his second-round match at last year’s US Open due to a bruised bone in his left upper arm.

He returned to represent Great Britain in a Davis Cup tie in Norway in February before making his ATP Tour return in Dubai. However, he has since pulled out of multiple events and most recently was forced to retire from his first-round match in Barcelona last month because of a knee injury.

Draper had already announced he was not going to compete at the French Open.
