Asian Games 2026 Day 1 Schedule, India events live time (IST), streaming | Asian Games 2026
The Asian Games 2026 entered the main phase of competitions on Sunday, September 20, with India set to feature across multiple sports in Aichi-Nagoya. The Indian contingent is in action from early morning, with wushu, shooting, teqball, table tennis, swimming, hockey, cricket, mixed martial arts (MMA) and badminton on the day’s schedule.
India’s day began with Mayanglambam Suraj Singh competing in the men’s changquan final in wushu at 5:30 am IST. He has finished outside medal contention.
Shooting will be among India’s key medal events in the morning, with Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa K Vinod competing in the women’s 10m air rifle individual qualification and team final from 6:15 am IST.
Quimcy Dsouza will also be in medal-match action in teqball. She faces Japan’s Yuina Sakamoto in the women’s singles bronze-medal match at 6:30 am IST. Later, Quimcy will pair up with Mohamed Anas Beg against Vietnam’s Hoang Minh Tan Nguyen and Gia Ngih Trinh in the mixed doubles bronze-medal match at 7:00 am IST.
India’s table tennis teams will also begin their campaigns. The women’s team faces Indonesia at 6:30 am IST and Singapore at 12:30 pm IST in Group F, while the men’s team takes on Indonesia at 9:00 am IST and Iran at 3:00 pm IST.
In MMA, Suchika Tariyal will face Mongolia’s Altanchimeg Baigalmaa in the women’s traditional 60kg quarter-final at 7:10 am IST. Varun Sanyal will compete in the men’s traditional 77kg quarter-final at 11:00 am IST.
The swimming programme will see Akash Mani compete in men’s 100m freestyle Heat 5 at 7:22 am IST. Utkarsh Patil and Rishabh Das will feature in men’s 100m backstroke Heat 3 at 7:37 am IST.
The Indian women’s hockey team will open its Pool B campaign against Uzbekistan at 7:30 am IST, followed by the men’s Pool A match against Indonesia at 11:30 am IST.
The Indian women’s cricket team will be in action in a key semi-final against Bangladesh at 10:30 am IST. India will look to secure a place in the final and keep its gold-medal hopes alive.
The Indian women’s badminton team will begin its campaign against Kazakhstan in the first round at 11:30 am IST. Wushu will also see India in action later in the day, with Aparna facing Iran’s Sogand Sinkaeichetan in the women’s 52kg sanda round of 16 at 3:10 pm IST and Vikrant Baliyan taking on Iran’s Soheil Mousavi in the men’s 75kg sanda round of 16 at 4:50 pm IST.
